 Being aware of the sound of the bell… does not mean the bell belongs to you. 
Likewise, being aware of the thought, does not mean the thought belongs to you.

However, being aware of a thought does not necessarily mean that the thought defines you or belongs to you. Thoughts can be influenced by various external and internal factors, such as past experiences, surroundings, and emotions.
